Expanded Assistance for TXU Energy Clients

2-1-1 Texas A Call for Help has added two additional TXU Energy AidSM appointments, Tuesday through Thursday, for the next six weeks to help customers in need of bill-payment assistance. Due to the generosity of TXU Energy customers and staff support of the TXU Energy Aid SM program, we have been awarded more funds to assist families throughout West Central Texas who need help paying their TXU Energy electric bill.

TXU Energy customers who are at risk of having their electric service disconnected are encouraged to contact A Call for Help. Appointment calls are taken between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. A Call for Help can be reached by dialing 2-1-1 or 325-673-8211. After you pick a language, press 1.

TXU Energy AidSM funds can only be applied to TXU Energy electric bills. Clients do not have to meet federal poverty guidelines in order to be eligible. Those seeking assistance must be the account holder or a full-time resident on the account for which assistance is being requested.

The TXU Energy AidSM program was established more than 30 years ago and has become one of the largest bill-payment assistance programs among electricity providers in the United States. Contributions made by the company, employees, customers, and other donors are provided to designated social service agencies, such as A Call for Help, across Texas to assist families in need. January-August, 2014, A Call for Help worked with 207 TXU Energy customers providing $51,292.38 in bill-payment assistance.

NOTE: In all of 2013, A Call for Help worked with 191 TXU Energy customers providing $38,946.79 in assistance.
