Good Samaritan Ministry received the Model Agency Award


Lions Club donates #1,500 for November Thanksgiving Fill-A-Pantry boxes on November 1st.

WTU donates $2,400 to the Food Bank on October 26, 2012.

  

  


Agencies served by the Food Bank of West Central Texas provide food for a broad cross-section of households. Key characteristics include:

  • 21% of the members of the household served are children under 18 years old
  • 6% of the members of the household are children age 0 to 5 years
  • 31% of the members of the household are elderly
  • About 72% of clients are non-Hispanic white, 5% are non-Hispanic black, 22% are
    Hispanic, and the rest are from other racial groups
  • 41% of the households include at least one employed adult
  • 53% have incomes below the federal poverty level during the previous month
  • 1% are homeless











For every $10 donated, the Food Bank provides enough food for 45 meals - DONATE TODAY!

It's hard to believe that the 29th Annual Share Your Christmas Food Drive is right around the corner on

KRBC proudly presents this wonderful event to benefit the Food Bank of West Central Texas. This year, we will broadcast live at the United Supermarket on South 14thStreet, from 6am to 7pm. In addition to donations of food, monetary donations can also be accepted.  With every $1 donation, the Food Bank can distribute 6.25 pounds of food, the equivalent of 5 meals!

On Saturday, May 10, 2014, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will collect food donations in addition to delivering mail in order to provide assistance to the millions of Americans who struggle with hunger.

The nation’s 180,000 letter carriers will collect food donations from the mailboxes of generous Americans in more than 10,000 communities and deliver them to food banks and other hunger-relief organizations.
