Food Stamp Outreach
Food stamps are a key way to address the nutritional needs of low-income Texas families and one of the nation's most important defenses against hunger. However, many barriers to participation remain. Nationally, only 60 percent of those eligible for food stamps receive them. In Texas, only 58 percent of those eligible receive food stamps.
The Food Bank of West Central Texas our Outreach Coordinator can help increase enrollment through application assistance in 13 Texas counties. It's completely free and no costs to the applicants.
If you or someone you know may be eligible for food stamps, the FBWCT Outreach Coordinator can help with:
- Answers to questions about the application process, procedures, and rules
- Supplying the proper Application forms
- Help filling out and turning in your application
- We can request information about the progress of a case from the regional office.
